Yes, but it is ok. I am not easily offended

That could be the case. It goes back to what I said earlier too about us not knowing what their expenses are and what they expect to pull in and whatnot. Ultimately they are all business decisions.

im upset

I would be very curious to see how much they could make just on a virtual tip jar alone.

I would almost guarantee it would be a larger profit than these streams.

and now to negate my entire bitching thus far: if they did a free stream with a virtual tip jar, id prolly throw at least 20 at them

Yes.

When Brendan did it for Wine Not, I tossed $50. A lot of people were throwing money around.

I saw Jake/BB the night before the RR run last year. Paid almost the same for that one night as the entire three night run. The balls on these guys.

I can’t remember specific prices. Must be my drug addled brain

I need to get back to helping hospice patients cope with life so I can afford my crippling drug addiction, though, so I am out. God speed, gents.

Huh, you are really bent out of shape about that. Are you a drug dealer?

This is like the scene from Harold and Kumar where Kumar calls the dude cockboy and then dude stalls until he eventually calls Kumar cockboy.

Not bent outta shape at all.
Haven’t been a drug dealer since I sold $3 mids bags back in High School.

I feel like the last time I bought something UM related and didn’t feel a little ripped off was the Mantis box set. This band used to do little things where the return on your investment felt like a genuine reward. Anybody remember the charity drive where the more they raised, the more video and audio was thrown into the package?

They used to be creative with nickle and diming me, S2s were $100, but I loved the different experience. Now it’s just feels like they know they can get $100 per head from people for anything, why bother making it unique or different. I’ve never looked at an afternoon VIP setlist and felt jealousy over the 40 minute set they saw. With that said, I was jealous of the original Bill Graham package setlist, but $250 was a little steep.

$50 for a holiday acoustic show ticket. This is a steal and you’ll actually be able to hear them sing/play.

In all seriousness it’s steep, but if I wasn’t bringing in a paycheck for the last 5 months I would be in desperation mode.

I miss $6.99 iClips FOH cam only streams circa 2012

Good post. I feel like they were somewhat earlier adopters on the “experiences” model (headphones, BG, S2, etc) and quickly realized after a few years that they could easily charge the same price for less value and people would pay it. I’ll always look back at the RR’12 run VIP and be amazed at the comparative value that package had up against more recent ones. I don’t give a shit that they’re charging $15 for a stream, I just wish they still had the creative passion to push themselves and be unique like they used to. It feels like they rose to a level of comfort and have coasted since.
