Wasn’t going to do Madison originally but saw that the premium balcony seats dropped significantly in price. Pulled the trigger, fuck it! I’ve been enjoying how they’re playing so far this year as well.
is tonight streaming?
Sweet. Wasn’t planning on making the trip down there so this is perfect.
Hell yeah. Where are you at? We’re the left side
Snagged row B in the center section. Slightly towards Joel side. Never been to this venue, I think I made the right move getting seats though. I heard it was a madhouse in there for Billy Strings.
it was wild for Billy, but it was sold out strong for those shows. don’t think it will be anywhere near that for UM. plus is going be cold asf that night
Still rather this show or even better do multiple nights at the Orpheum Theatre.
Billy strings was the most packed I’ve seen that venue. On the sylvee social medias they said it was the most sold tickets for a show of 2022. I legit was almost in panic attack mode trying to go outside and get back to my spot during set break. Venue can be tight, but mega sold out shows suuuuuck
I miss orpheum so much. Since the sylvee opened it’s taken so many of the shows that would go there. I still pine for a Barrymore throwdown
It is not…no UM streams til next week in Madison as of now. Spafford might though.
Is the Orpheum a better venue than the Sylvee? I’ve only been there once. I spent my 27th birthday in Madison seeing Lotus after meeting my biological mother for the first time that afternoon. She lives in Madison. Don’t really remember anything special about that venue but I was on the floor upfront kicking it with @RailroadEarther and they played my request of “Behind Midwest Storefronts”. That’s the last time I’ve graced Madtown. I really need to get back there. This year on a Thursday just wasn’t too feasible. I hope they do multiple nights in Madison again the future cause that would definitely get me back. Visited in 2007 for STS9, 2009 for Umphrey’s, and 2015 for Lotus.
It’s a fun legit medium sized theater. Has nice seats vs the sylvee which is a concrete floor. Love the orph, David Byrne there is probably one of my fav musical memories
Yeah, the Orpheum is a historic theater, with decent seating, good sight lines & great sound in most spots…while the Sylvee is a modern, live nation cookie cutter box-like venue. While the newer construction has it’s appeal, mostly due to more modern bathrooms & bars, it has little to no real personality. Not a fan, & very disappointed that they chose to play there vs Orpheum when they even posted a poll on what fans would prefer. I have a hard time believing fans picked Sylvee, but I don’t know.
Yeah. I hate that they don’t play Orpeum anymore. Have seen so many good shows there and it’s just such a perfect venue for them. So disappointing to see them play shitty corporate venues instead.
I agree it does seem cookie cutter, from the pictures it looks very similar to the venue they’re playing in Grand Rapids tonight with less balcony seating. I wonder if live nation forces them to play at their venues? I did see it’s at least partially owned by LN, same with the GLC Live.
I really hope that Milwaukee is able to keep the live nation venues out of downtown, it would be a shame if bands couldn’t play the independent venues anymore.
It’s nearly identical to 20 Monroe, except at least the bathroom aren’t upstairs. I was shocked by that bad decision in GR. Who decided that?!!!???
Sucks to see where we’re at the point where LN is just copy pasting venues around the country. Someday going to concerts is going to be like going to Walmart or Mcdonalds.
miss those Orpheum shows. Umphrey’s used to throw down in that venue
Staff was very permissive in my experience too.
