It would be a masterpiece?
FTFY
Iād argue that some of their best improv over the past 10 years came in 2018-2019 which is right around when INU was released. @timewilltell if this new album sparks some interesting improv.
Yem is a masterpiece thatās ruined by the vocal jam.
Everything about it is perfect and unique and incredible.
But that fucking vocal jam.
Letās me beat the crowd when they encore with it though.
Love the YEM vocal jam, super weird and psychedelic. I have terrible taste though so ignore me. Would rather listen to a vocal jam than gulfstream 10x out of 10
Iād rather listen to someone taking a huge dump over hearing Gulf Stream ever again.
Iāve always loved gulf stream. It has its moments.
I love when Jake improvs the lyrics and screams.
lol jk
Itās a jam band album. As much as I loved Anchor Drops (the GOAT UM studio album, donāt @ me), itās not like I go back and listen to it that much. If they donāt overplay these tunes over the next couple years and if they stretch them out and make them unique at least every other time, weāll retroactively think of this as not their best but still a solid album. Unfortunately Iām not betting on that to happen, but sometimes getting in the studio to work out some new material can provide a spark plug to the live show.
Based on his lyrics Bayliss seems to have some real self loathing catholic guilt. He really needs to branch out and cover some topics that donāt revolve around his own damn self
You should have posted this in the Jamband Cringe thread.
Nice review bro. Glad to see the album really spoke to you!!
Some of the replies have me cracking up
āBlink twice if Bayliss is in the room with youā
Lol at songs āleakingā those were planned releases by the band leading up to the album. Fucking n00b
Are these your thoughts, or is that a copy-pasta? Iām leaning towards the latter.
I still havenāt listened to a single track, but we do intend to find the time to listen through the album in a single sitting
I havenāt done this yet, but also plan to sometime soon. Iāve heard all the tracks now but havenāt given it the time to listen as a full album.
All true. I came thirty seconds into the first track.
Iām actually a bit envious of these peopleās enthusiasm. I remember how excited I was to listen to Mantis and then it delivered.
Now I need Kris-level drugs to just kinda enjoy their new stuff.
