Apparently not
Yeah @WhoDatVols sent me that yesterday and I told him the same thing
You know it’s bad when they’re announcing sit ins days before the show.
Who is JoJo?
JoJo Momma
Oh, the guy from WSMFP?
I think it’s a pretty common misconception that a band playing in Nashville will automatically draw well cause it’s music city. I’ve seen tons of undersold shows since I’ve moved here with larger acts. Nashville is such a saturated market for music and each weekend there are several different shows you could see (both large acts and smaller). It definitely is a bummer seeing them sell only about 350 tickets though. A lot of acts that had been selling out the arena here haven’t come close on this tour (including Sturgill last night).
Just wanna take a moment to say that the Similar Skin jam last night was worth the price of admission. That beautiful melodic section was wonderful.
You been to Truth yet? My homie from college went from being Donato’s tour manager to stage manager there. Excited to visit for a show. I haven’t been to Nashville since it was cool though. Dated a girl that went to Belmont in 2010. Sounds like it’s gone the way of Austin. A shame to hear since Nashville in 2008-2010 was a lot of fun for me.
Not yet, it actually just opened Thursday night. Looks pretty nice but it’ll be a complete nightmare getting in/out of shows in that area. @ian works basically next door to it
I’m still surprised people aren’t talking about the elephant in the room. This economy is terrible and traveling sucks right now.
Right on. Nashville seems to have a ton of new venues. I’m stoked Portland is finally getting two state of the art rooms next year, Steelhead (Live Nation 3600 capacity) and a TBD (AEG 4500 capacity.) Lots of acts skip Portland and play Bend cause we are still the largest city in the country without a Live Nation venue. That’s changing next year for better or worse. I’m remaining optimistic until it sucks the soul out of us.

I saw Umphreys zero times in 2025 as I was financially insolvent but now I’m making 3X what I was making hustling cannabis for modern colonizers and I’ve seen Umphreys eight times this year. The economy definitely sucks but if you want to see shows you still can you just gotta make sacrifices and it sounds like Umphreys is the band being sacrificed by many. I still think the band needs new management because Vince and KB shoulder a huge amount of the blame for why they aren’t selling tickets. Booking the Mish 3/4 years in a row after not playing it for 14 years prior is stupid for example. Why would they over saturate a destination run? No one wants to do the Mish in 2026 with the logistics they need to navigate. Belly Up too. Play somewhere new in Colorado please. TWT…
It’s like they learned nothing from playing Jamaica three Decembers in a row 2007-2009. 2009 was tight if you were there but grossly undersold. I hope they don’t go a hiatus any time soon but you’re right the economy sucks and Umphreys is suffering hard as a result.
I would be stoked to see UM with only 300 people regardless of lights. I also don’t see them anymore so who cares what I say
In my experience the smaller the crowd the better the show.
Lights in the early Myers/Budney era were crap.
Still have never done an UMVip and refuse to support that nonsense. Is the Ogden balcony just UMVip this year or what? Either way it’s whack to do it with your ticket sales down so much. I don’t know if they even cap it but UMVips can’t be more than like 50 people max these days right? I have no frame of reference because I’ve never custied up for one. I will admit I almost did UM Charleston 2016 as UMVip with my ex but we bailed and talked Melch into giving me a +3 on the guest list to Terrapin Crossroads 2017. That was a 420 capacity show and pailed in comparison to the night before at the Fox in Oakland. So small doesn’t exactly equal better from my perspective at least. I guess they are going back to the Mystic in Petaluma that I bailed on @WilliamNyeberg last time they played it so 500 capacity Bay Area show so we will see what kind of heat a small West Coast show gets next year but point is if you want to see UM with 300ish people I don’t think it’s going to be too hard going forward. Which is why UMVip rubs me the wrong way you are going to gatekeep a private set in exchange for a few extra shekels in your coffers? Maybe if you didn’t alienate your fans with private shows in the middle of a New Years run in 2013 you’d still be growing or playing theaters at least.
I’m apolitical and politics doesn’t really effect me but wow it sure is weird how gas is too expensive to go on tour! ![]()
This is definitely all because of 12/30/13
Nashville then is probably cooler than what it is today
