That show does slap tho

Worth ruining the Colorado fan base permanently 15 years later tbh

Absolutely. So many people were butthurt about not getting tickets. Meanwhile I just emailed Melch and she reserved Lana, Zach and I tickets lol. Didn’t even have to try and grab them during the sale

I got fucked by @LiquidDreams on that one. He told me a month before that he had a ticket for me, and the day of the show told me he decided to give it to his brother.

I was super butthurt at the time, but was stoked when @PEN1S_ISLAND called him out for not paying back money he borrowed.

I understand prioritizing your brother, but it still pissed me off.

He offered to let me stay in his loft in LoDo when I was first trying to move to Colorado in 2014 and then a month later he texted me while I was on tour that he was getting evicted and we had to have all our shit out in 2 weeks (I was getting back from tour 2 days before the date he said) so that was all super stressful. But then a year later for the 2015 new years run he was living back in the same loft and he texted me to give me the code to the key box, he wasn’t even in Colorado, he just wanted to let me and my friends (w/ @timewilltell and @wiscomtonslacker @OSUmBeaverPhreak and other non-borters, my friends Maggie and Matt) party there and not let the place go to waste. His story was that the landlord couldn’t find anybody else to move in so he unevicted LD. Then soon after that I guess he owned the place and was making money renting it out on Airbnb. Extremely fishy story, a few years later I was with @thefussyasianman reminiscing on it and we both concluded that he was just making up the story about being evicted because it makes no sense. Also one time he hit me up randomly because he had an extra ticket to Al Di Meola so that was the one time I saw Al Deemster. Then after that he was going to be my ride for PacNW tour 2016 but I never heard from him the week of and I ended up getting rides with other people, and I don’t think I’ve seen a trace of him since then

Kimble slaps

They didn’t do themselves any favors with the Colorado base in 2021 with the Red Rocks ticket fiasco either. I know for a fact that a number of people said ‘fuck UM’ at that point and never came back.

what do u mean by that. How it was a limited capacity show until like the day before when it went full capacity?

It was initially very limited capacity (2500) and there was a lottery with a cap of four tickets for each night and tickets were about $100/ea. Each night was expected to easily sell out so lots of people put in for four tickets for each night (4x3 - so about $1200) - hoping that the order for one night would hit in the lottery.

So everyone signs up for the lottery, but then the lottery gets delayed as Red Rocks expands capacity. People reached out to UM management (Browning) asking to revise their lottery entries, but they were denied. In the end, everyone’s lottery hit and people ended up with more tickets than they needed. UM kept advertising additional tickets on sale, so people were having a hard time selling their extras. People were big mad and Browning pretty much told everyone off via Instagram rant.

It may not have hurt their dedicated fanbase much, but there were lots of casual fans left with a bad taste in their mouths. I remember lots of “not another dime” posts on various forums/socials.

That’s what I was implying Nashville jumped the shark from all I’ve read and heard since my last visit. I had a solid crew of friends I met through STS9 in college that went to MTSU 45 minutes outside of Nashville so I went down there a lot 2008-2010. A couple of my friend were local promoters and laundered Molly money through shows at Exit/In and 12th & Porter and showed me a lot of East Nashville before it got gentrified. It was a fun city to party in my early 20s. It was no Denver Austin Portland though which is why I never considered moving there.

I didn’t have a ticket to that show because I had a flight to NYC 12/30/13 to fly to the city for the last two nights of Phish. It was going to be my buddy John’s (RIP HOMIE) first time in NYC but either he or I missed our flight after partying too hard post 12/29 so we decided to stay back. I had just started hooking up with my friend Brit who did have a ticket to the show but she decided to stay home in Denver that night with me instead of going. At that point she was more interested in Biscuits anyway so she was fine skipping it. I’m sure I could have hit up Nickmo to get me in that night I mean he invited me to his wedding so we were pretty tight then but I was more interested in getting laid haha. I have never listened to that or the first two BGs. Maybe I finally should subject myself to those but I’ve avoided out of personal protest to what that concept evolved into….UMVip.

For those that hit all three, which one is the GOAT? I just remember all the texts pouring in praising BG1 as I was drowning my FOMO misery in Austin after I let some broad convince me to not move back to Detroit the week prior where I had purchased my flight to Chicago from cause I thought I’d be living there again the weekend of BG1. I made so many dumb decisions in 2012 but I’m happy where I’m at in 2026 so it was all worth it I guess.

lol forgot that happened. Finally got the cash for the tickets only to be told they were both for the same day and not the weekend as a whole. whoops. We hashed it out during “On The Green” over some mids biscuits and lots of Kitty.

The gf and I stand on 2017 was the last great year to live here(shame on us still living here a decade later I guess). Before its identity largely became just an extension of lower broadway. Also fuck the truth. There was 0 parking to begin with in Wedgewood Houston. Its exploded in the last two years and the infrastructure cannot even come close to keeping up with the traffic/foot traffic

goes without saying not just a truth problem but AJ capital and all the other developers setting up shop in the area

I did BG1 and BG2. 1 was amazing. Venue for 2 sucked I never liked seeing shows there. The first one was way better organized as well. Nickmo did a great job with it.
