I totally get people for whom the loss of the dual guitar sound is a deal breaker, but I feel like they’re doing one of the best versions of what is currently possible with this lineup

I think they have. I liked it. Switching things up is a bit of a breath of fresh air

I don’t think so, they’re definitely reworking it a bit. I saw one in Harrisburg and I don’t believe it was just Joel doing the Jake part

yeah and some of the two guitar parts sound weird with just Brendan’s line (usually a harmony to Jake’s line)
