2023/03/03 - McDonald Theater - Eugene, OR

WTWIRD best jam of the run, but i think Bend and Seattle are both better shows.

Nah man. That Silent Type build from 8 minutes on is great, what Kris/Joel are doing makes me want them to form their own side project called “Cum with Me” where all they do is soaring uplifting jams

I haven’t seen UM in 3 years so I had a lot of nut to bust.

Eugene + Seattle are still miles ahead of PDX.

I would say bend and Eugene are just about equal for me. The 2nd set of bend really falls off after Spires, whereas this show is consistently good and finishes strong.

Hot fire

And in contrast I started as king of fluff and have progressively become more critical of the band :grimacing:

Thanks a lot guys

I love Umphrey’s McGee but I’m willing to accept that they’ll disappoint me at some point. Kinda like everyone else that I love.

I consider myself lucky that I came along late enough, and combined with the priceless discussions archived here, that I can avoid most of their underwhelming performances by picking and choosing what I listen to.

Fair point. But I think the biggest problem isnt with shows they’ve already played; its the fact that they keep playing shows.

Every now and then they’re good for a couple songs.

Like Bridgeless from 3/4/23, absolutely epic. Went back to it a number of times already

If a jamband can play a good show 1/3 of the time, i consider them great. Baseball logic.

Seems like there was a period where UM (IMO) was more like 1/20.

They are back to batting .300 for now, though, so i will enjoy it while i can.
