Havenāt really heard much of anything pre Colorado, but my favs from this year are
6/16 Milk
6/16 Great American
6/16 Plunger
6/19 Nemo
7/8 Seasons
7/10 IDM
7/15 Escape Goat
I remember prowler from January being just as good as any of these. Detroit Mantis too
Uh you forgot 6/18 Frasco Fiasco
Iād actually put 7/8 Wappy up too. A little short but definitely one of the most hard hitting jams I can think of from this year and one of the best peaks
Since when do you listen to UM again?
Since afaf frfr
Actually though I always skim but I only pay close attention when they start getting back heavy into jamming. Summer has obviously been the most jammy weāve gotten since the pandUMic.
Iāll see you at novUMber UMBowl
When you havent seen any JOTYs and have to go to more UM shows <<<
Gonna check out the Prowler but Detroit Mantis is pretty damn good. Last section is great with that haunting Joel synth layered on top of everything.
The Strummet Whistle Kids next weekend was hot, hot heat.
7/8 Seasons is stone JOTY for me, nothing else is on the same level. Joel is mfin crushing this shit.
Check out 1/21 Prowler and 2/19 U Fir for best Winter Tour jams IMO
The Fir is still tops for me. Itās the best Jake playing Iāve heard in UMprov in several years.
Speaking of Firs, it has been 14 shows since the last one, the longest gap of 2022 for that song. Might we get a Fir at Horningās on Saturday?
Good jam, but for me itās not even close to a lot of recent jams.
Just listened to the 7.8 Wappy and 6.16 Plunger back to back on my Macbook Air. The Wappy definitely needs headphones or more robust speakers to completely enjoy whereas this Plunger is still hot even on the laptop audio. Both kick of seconds setsā¦canāt fucking wait till Saturday scratch that Sunday since it will be right around midnight when they kick off the second set at Strummit.
M1 MacBook Air is definitely the LOTY though
Definitely wasnāt a flex. I actually have two of the M1s though. One in each color.
7/8 Wappy is cool but itās maybe the 3rd best jam of that show to me. Itās a great jam but I prefer the Philās and of course that raging Seasons. Not to mention the superb Kabump > Intentions
Listened back to that 6/16 Plunger and it was a lot better than I remember from the stream. First jam is a little Draco-adjacent but overall it takes you on a real journey.
7/16 Dayville and Mulches are really outstanding as well. There really is nothing better than a set or show ending jam. So rare and they always deliver (7/17/10 Girlfriend, 1/27/11 Resofor example)
