all enjoyable, but none of them have the same vibe as the new haven chug chug to me. something about that jam gets me in the mood for a desk flip every time.

Nobody asked but my take on the Plungers is that the 2/15 and 8/15 are basically equally great. Fucking love the trashy thrashy dissonant metal jam in the Brooklyn version. On the other hand, the entire final 8 mins of 8/15 is pretty goddamn glorious with the evil dark peak > Meeting in the Aisle jam > soaring uplifting Allman Bros peak.
You won’t be disappointed. Some of the proggiest hardest hitting UM in years. A lot of the improv culminates in a big classic-UM peak which could be seen as a strength or a weakness depending on your point of view. 22 min Plunger is huge, but damn the Remind Me, Turn & Run, C Walk II and Virtue are excellent too.

Driven To Tears is excellent too. I prefer the Virtue>DTT segment to the Plunger, but the whole show is very good.
Would anyone be interested if I streamed a show on Twitch tomorrow night? Been digging these live streams and I want a Friday night banger. I was thinking either 2/15 or 3/29.

I’m all about hard-hitting proggy UM! That setlist definitely looks to be right up my alley. And then I see your mention of 2/15. I’ll scope that one out, too! Both sound like they could be my kind of shows…

The Athens 10/18 looks is awesome. Short jam, but peaks so hard. Best jam of the 3 nights for sure.

10/18 is a very underrated show, probably cuz not many borters seemed to have been at that run. But the Looks > FF > Condy > N2F segment is huge. The FF jam is easily the best of that run, one of my absolute favs of 2019

2019 had a lot of great hams to fill up on. Linear was such a solid vehicle last year IMO: 4/4, 7/3, 8/16, 10/17. To name a few off the top of my head.
I also love the 8/30 Linear. A little shorter because it comes in the same segment after the Cut Off and Eat which both have long jams, but the peak of that Linear is so good

There are better Linears but it’s actually one of my favorite peaks of the year
100%. Need to go back through the Linears but it’s going to be tough to top 4/4 for me.
Great cap to that segment. Such a good chunk of music. I love the more rolling dance rock vibes of Cut Off followed by the two massive builds from spacey to peaking in Eat and then the seamless blend into Linear with that huge emotional ending. I also love that that whole segment is bookended by Ride On Pony and Muff 2.
