Two Shows in Two Different states all in one day
Peach Fest> FShed
I’ve been listening back to my earlier days of seeing UM and just realized that in the fall of 2007 I had three lyrical stews in a row; two of which were shows back to back. 09/14/07, 09/15/2007 and 11/10/2007 I thought that was kind of wild.
I woulda stopped seeing the band.
I was there and It’s been years since I listened again but I remember 9/15/07 Great American being beautiful
For sure. I miss the days when GA had a very real chance of being opened up at any show. Such a great tune to begin with, but it was so much more exciting when the possibility of some great improv was more likely than it’s become over the years. It certainly can still happen, but it just seems that they don’t use it as a jam vehicle like they once did.
It definitely holds up on tape.
haha at that point in my UM career they could do no wrong.
hahah I know the feeling
I’ve just been very unlucky. Every lyrical I’ve seen has been incredibly energy sucking, just a total momentum killer.
It’s top notch.
my absolute favorite lyrical ive ever seen. I was freshly 17 years old and I had just gone through a rough high school breakup and it’s hilarious to think back on now but I used to emo ouuuuttttt to that lyrical for ages after that. Even when I put it on now, I still get the feels lol.
That GA means so much to me for so many reasons. The Tinkle’s from that show it pretty top notch as well. Was also my first Passing. God damn I loved 9/15/07.
edit: agh jfc, that was my first Last Train Home as well. Nick Blasky sounds damn good imo singing Easy as well. I could talk about this show for days.
i thought you were at the first sandpoint show? that mantis is the only good lyrical.
damn straight I was, completely forget about that because the set flowed so nicely.
can’t believe I’m saying that about a set that had Bruce & The Who but that was a good show.
almost like they should dedicate less time to writing a setlist and more time to being creative while playing.
Forgot about Blasky. I miss his Cinncy sit ins
Knoxville Kabump lyrical in 2017 was a great vocal stew that I caught. They only work with me if Bayliss is being extra emo
yep and then factor in that that they almost always play better in smaller places and you’ve got a recipe for a good show.
dinky sweaty club = hot stuff
arena in Grand rapids = weak sauce
