Being “notey” just means its prog, man. That’s when UM is at their strength, their more progressive tunes are more often than not the better ones. When they say stuff like “trim the fat”, it just means simplifying their playing… just seems like they dumb down the effort in the name of making it “accessible”. Which is fine for a few songs but as we’ve said many times don’t abandon what got you to this point

I can’t believe there are so many B votes for Water. Honestly it’s insane that the vote profile for Water is almost identical to Wappy, which is such a boring song.

Water is super close to an A for me but it’s one of the handful of songs where I genuinely dislike the Bayliss vocals…I think it’s a cool composition but slightly disjointed…if it’s was purely instrumental it’d be an A for sure

There have been a handful of songs that I wasn’t familiar enough to vote on without relistening. This hivemind mentality had me revisit water. Better than I remembered, but still enough sections that I didn’t like that kept it at a B for me.
Water is one of my favs since 2004. One of my fav moments was just being on a head full at red rocks 2016 and there being a dope creepy speak up jam that just dropped into water and I lost it.

Wellwishers is easily my favorite of the post Mantis batch of songs and one of my favorite overall post Mantis UM songs. Love that song so much

Just going back to do some vote logging and I’m going to excise the F vote here. FidlamBen appears to only have placed this one vote. I don’t much care about how often someone votes, but this seems like vote placed in bad faith.
