Easiest S, besides my fluff for Front Porch. I’ve been listening to a lot of Firs from 07-08, and there’s some really good jams. They seemed to milk the ending part more than they do nowadays. SCamp 08, 7/01/07, 02/28/08 are some of my favorites.

Upward is a classic example of a tune that suffered from the studio treatment. They completely took any balls it had, slowed it down and cut them off to make it sound like a disney soundtrack. Its not that bad, but its not that great either now that they only play the studio cut live, simple C.
Fir is easy S UM. So many legendary versions and they allow it to progress as they’re usually trying new things within the jamming and the structure of the song. Great stuff

While we’re on the topic of Fir, what’s everyone’s favorite wildcard they’ve done? I liked the snippet of The Message they played during the '19 Hive show. The recent one with The Haunt was fun too.

That one slipped my memory. If I had a least favorite one, it’d be the 46 and Two from the Crofoot show, only cuz it seemed like they just stopped being into the song after it was done.
I made a full list at one point, but idk where it is and no way in hell I’m doing that again

I’ll agree that the original composition leaves something to be desired, but there’s a good number of enjoyable jams that are attached to it. However if we’re talking about the guy on -Bort, with the similar name, he definitely fucking sucks.

Lol nah. Scladopian > Utopian. And yeah, tons of great Fir jams. One of the most reliable vehicles of all time probably. Ive never caught a great one, and thats got a bit to do with why I’m salty. Best Fir I’ve seen is probably RR '19.
But the end of Fir is straight awful imo.

Trying to think of the best Fir I’ve seen….Scamp 2008 was long but I don’t think that’s the best one I’ve seen. Going to have to check the stats and circle back!

I usually change the song after the jam. But if it’s a long one, I’ve found that they change it up a little.
I’ve seen 30 of them but ATU doesn’t highlight them anymore so just a quick glance makes me think that Sandpoint 2016 was pretty good iirc.

It’s not even generic, it’s a straight rip from Natural Mystic, down to “THE AIIIIR” lyrics. That said, I still love this song.
