Wow, surprised to see so many B’s on Room to Breathe earlier. For what it’s worth, I don’t want to hear that song live unless it’s very early in the show, but…it’s solid! Instrumentally at least. Vocals are an issue, but they don’t ruin it either. Nice quirky angular UM.
I considered A for Search 4, I really did. Criminally underplayed due to Jake hate I went B because I was like “I do like it a little less than Anchor Drops, which is another always standard song on the A/B line that I gave an A,” so I guess that’s my line. But just a quintessential UM tune there even still.
Roulette is a fantastic tune off of LBDOK. Quintessential UM, doesn’t get played enough. That synth riff from Joel is the greatness, erie, yet pretty in an angular way
Yeah I was bored of it until that Atlanta one in January, I think 2017 maybe? That’s when it started to get more interesting. The Anaheim one 2019 was solid too.
Came here to say this. Might be my most listened to 2019 jam behind 8/15 Plunger. Richmond Similar Skin from that year is also up there. As far as more recent versions go, 5/15/21 is pretty solid albeit overshadowed by the Tribute and 3x from that show.
The recent Chicago version notwithstanding, Slacker improv does not frequently grab me at shows. The song is fine, but I would much rather, hear, say…Smell the Mitten? (Even though I gave that an identical rating). Is that a hot take?
I agree with this take. Slacker improv feels more like they’re reliving a previous idea (ie slacking hurr durr) whereas mitten improv usually starts in your face or completely removed from anything
True, but when Slacker is good, it can be incredible. Has there ever been a Mitten that was as good as the Slackers from the Vic, 10/28/10, 2/18/12, or 12/30/18?
