Not yet, it seems unlikely at this point. Although tbh I’d much rather see them at the salt shed, so it’s not as much of a bummer as it used to be before that place opened.
Happy 20th Anniversary to one of my favorite lyrical Stews of all time. Phil’s Farm at the Variety Playhouse here in Atlanta. I know @Yawnspterodactyl and @Tottengus are fans of this one as well.
Top 3 show and the best Linear these ears have ever heard. Also met Max, Mike, and Brad at this show. This whole show smokes!
I have always liked this cem walk 2 as well. Fun little theme they develop in that one
Yes! Solid jams in Domino, Bottom 1/2 & Fir as well. Booth Love jam teases Nu Shooz who are from the PacNW.
That was a fun night! I remember being pleasantly surprised by The Linear because it had only been played 3 shows prior so I wasn’t expecting it. And then to have it be this amazing jam was a sweet cherry on that sundae. Domino was fun too. In the crowd noise after Domino you’ll hear a faint “fuck yeah”…that was me LOL

Surprised I haven’t posted this one in the past 2 years, but 15 year anniversary bump to a seriously scorching hot show. I’m not the biggest Higgins fan, nor am I a hater, but it really was the perfect encore choice for this one. The lyric of ‘hope your expectations were lower than before’ was a perfect nod to the last show they played, 5 days earlier in South Bend.
IMO, this is what that show should’ve been, but too many things were just off at the St Pat’s show.

It’s hard to follow up such a great story as the BDJ one, but I can’t hold back the chance to bring up my 1st two-night UM ‘run’.
This show was f’n excellent, and I could’ve been happy by this one alone. I had no idea what was about to happen the next night, and will post that one tomorrow. For now though, here’s the wonderful 3-22-02 show…

This show, 20 years ago today, was simply unreal. I’d absolutely put it in the top 10 UM shows, of the 220+, that I’ve seen, and probably in the top 20 by any band. They were so loose & on point the whole night. The show had such an effortless feel, and it just felt so incredibly special. Both Jake & Joel were beyond friendly & happy to talk. Joel was just so pumped by how that 1st set played out, and was also super happy that they went with no set list that night. After the show, I was very happy to talk with Jake, and when I tried to step away & not take too much of his time, he kept pulling us back into the chat. What a special night! Really hope they decide to release it one day in the future. Would do/pay just about anything to relive this one.

This was a seriously great show. Standout versions of Sociable, Roulette & Front Porch. Great versions of DBK, AIT & Divisions as well, but I feel like the Sociable & especially Roulette are the most unique for the era. This was also my only time catching Wabash.

I’ll continue to fluff this one each & every year. So many great moments in this show. The 1st set is stacked full of good stuff. Shit gets real weird at times in the 2nd set. I have a buddy, who had eaten some fungus, kinda freak out & disappear mid 2nd set. It got a little too weird for him & he decided to walk back to the East side by himself, rather than ride out the intensity. His girl was kinda scared that something more serious happened, but we made it through & found him afterwards.

Oddly enough, the friend I had mentioned above reached out yesterday to plan a visit w/his new “wife” in June. We’re in touch relatively frequently, especially during MLB season, as he’s originally from St Louis & is now back living there, but just felt it was kinda funny. We’re always back & forth when the Brewers/Cardinals series are going on.
A big reason I missed bumping this show 2 days ago was that we were packing a ton of stuff for a move. I found this, which I couldn’t help but chuckle about due to the date. Ahh, the good old days of writing out a setlist in real time at the show, on a headful in the dark. Particular nod to Hangover being written on top of the 40’s…haha.
