Wasn’t the crazy screaming girl from Madison? Or was that hurricane holly?
Idk. But there’s definitely a crazy screaming girl in that L.Ville show.
That was Hurricane Holly. @woodsidej had some choice shots from that night in 2009.

Super solid show, top to bottom. Had such a blast at this one. I’m very grateful to have seen as many shows this year as I did. I saw even more in ‘07, but I caught some serious gems in ‘06. What a great time to be a dedicated fanatic of this band.
I really miss IVOY being a fairly regular occurrence.

over 10 years (and counting) since the last one. sucks
Was the last one umbowl 2?
I’m glad I caught one IVOY in Ann Arbor in 2009.
Also glad I was at this show…
The segue into Tribute out of Milk was so money. I was smoking a chillum on the floor with @mdean iirc and called out those Tribute teases before they dropped into it. Silky smooth jamming! And don’t forget about this Bridgeless either.

The Water is hot too for sure. I caught the Cleveland, Muncie, and Knoxville Waters in 2008. Umphrey’s didn’t know I like to get wet…

Such a great show, just spun this one the other day. We must have crossed paths many times throughout those years.

This show is stacked! What an amazing night this was. I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t heard it, give it a spin. Right off the bat they throw a really unique, albeit relatively short jam into the HBB & the show just crushes from there on. I really miss those days of loose, fun UM shows.

Weird listening to this show and how different it is from modern UM. THis show is very short (barely 2 hrs and 15 mins) and has only 5 jams, but three of them are 16 mins long. I feel like on the OG bort his show was underfluffed considering the greatness of Water and Bridgeless. Those are legitimately the single best versions of each song, played back to back. Don’t know if that has ever happened before or since.

Beginning of a great 3 night run. Despite the next 2 nights being so stacked, this show is great in its own right. The Wally & Bottom Half in the 1st set are killer, then the Plunger/SF1/Plunger & MFF are outstanding. I feel very fortunate to have seen this run. Shows just kept getting better also. Great times & great memories!!

This Columbus show is a monster, but being that it’s seated right between the Grand Rapids & Ann Arbor shows, it has never been my go to of the run. The 1st set is huge, with the always beautiful EOTR to open, into a giant DBK that clocks In well over 30+ mns with a Haji sandwiched in it. Then the return of Wappy was a very special moment for sure. Set 2 has some great stuff as well, but this show has always been about that 1st set, IMHO. This show was really great to be in attendance for, but for me it always gets overshadowed by the next night. Really glad we made the effort, as we knew quite a few people who skipped the long out of the way drive, and just stayed in Michigan between the GR & Ann Arbor shows.

My buddy was too dopesick to make Grand Rapids but we did Columbus and Ann Arbor together. Glad I caught all three nights myself those were some influential shows in my early days of seeing the band.
