Ok thanks. When have they been coming on?
Usually closer to 5:30 (pacific), and yesterday they went til 9:30 even though it was supposed to end at 9.
Are you WC? So thatās 9:30 ET
Have you watched every night? Sorry to bug. Followed most of your convos. Hadnāt seen some of my favorites come out yet. Curious.
Yah Iām WC, theyāre gonna be on in 10min and even though they show each set as a 2 hour block (with this one starting 20min ago) theyāll probably go past the end of that second 2hr block.
Fuck it. Iām in.
edit: never mind. That live x live site is being unfriendly with my browserās privacy settings and not allowing me to sign up. I wonāt be using their app. Oh well. Back to Biscuits.
Slow ready next
out of place free space jam, love it
Set 1 tonight was hot set 2 kinda rough
Yah Iād agree, thereās definitely been some sweet spots overall but not the strongest night of the lot
Iāve only listened to last nights and this one. Last night was really great on the whole.
āThe consensus among jam band fans seems to be that Goose simply does this better than anyone else right now, and its willingness to extend into 20-minute-plus jam territory pleases fans who might occasionally be caught glancing at a stopwatch at a Phish concert.ā
The author is a longtime Phish fan. He has at least one degree in music. Does those Phish maps things. Heās being critical of Phish in that statement, I believe. Last year the stuck up Phish dorks, that shit on every other band, were referring to their improv as āmicro-jams.ā I know they did some longer pieces of improv eventually, but it definitely wasnāt the norm. I think thatās the comparison heās drawing to Goose.
Got anything to say now?
Yea Phish fans sound like losers. Also, anybody in this community knows āthe consensus among jamband fansā is an oxymoron
Thatās true. Just look at UM HoF winners.
Nobody:
Phish fans: this jam is only 17 minutes long? itās obviously not as good as phish.
Few things in this scene are more annoying than people judging jams based on song length.

Any nugs playlists? Iād like a little improv heavy binge.
I went through their catalog on nugs and looked for tunes with noteworthy improv that approached or exceeded the 20 minute mark. The All I Need is particularly good. It starts off a little slow, like the guitar player had the wrong tempo in mind for the first section, but it soon picks up to the regular tempo. At 5:19 they start to switch from a major jam to minor jam and build a nice tension and release section with great band interplay. The 7:20-7:41 segment is particularly nasty. The drum groove at the 9:00 min. mark gets super funky and syncopated. They develop the jam slowly after this and hit a pretty huge peak, then settle into a cool off beat section at about 18:30.
Tumble, A Western Sun, and Lead the Way are some of my favorite Goose tunes, so I found some good versions of those tracks to throw on the playlist. Iāve never had the opportunity to see the band live, but canāt wait to make that happen when the 'Rona fizzles out.
