The wording of that is really unsettling. It sounds like he’s dealing with some mental health / substance abuse issues and the band asked him to take a time out. Not to assume. But if you get the flu you don’t take a week to “work on your health and well being.”
I hope he’s ok. He’s one of my musical hero’s.
This band isn’t that same without him.
