I love this song, but there is one thing that grates on me every time. I’m sorry in advance if now you can’t un-hear it…but that damn splash cymbal! It’s the ONLY cymbal he uses in the song and it just sounds so annoyingly tinn-y and repetitive as the song goes on. Just a minor grievance, great song either way.

I don’t mind it… I didn’t realize (until just now) that this whole record is Jeff Porcaro on drums.

Oh wow, didn’t know that either. I mean, he definitely slays on this album.

I also didn’t know until recently that they brought founding member Denny Dias back to do that guitar solo in Aja (the song), or that Rick fucking Derringer played on tracks on Katy Lied.
