Would still he nice to see the official band page acknowledging why they canceled the show but they’ve never once taken a political stance.

I just breezed through the comments on their IG post regarding the cancelation. Sure there could be trolls, but the amount of people thinking that UM should be indifferent is concerning. UM as a whole being indifferent is a little upsetting too. I guess I’m way too naive since I’d like to believe that music descended from hippies/culture of love would have a bigger voice in these times.

It’s no shock that they try to be apolitical. There’s been multiple comments over the years by band members saying they have different views. Stasik is a raging Republican. Can’t imagine him giving the OK for the band to make a political statement.

I’m well aware of how certain band members feel.
While it’s milquetoast at best, it’s not like they didn’t say anything. The old-fashioned, white suburban, conservative views are glaring with them, but at least they acknowledged its wrong. Looking back at it, i would’ve been more upset if they chose to play last night.
THIS is how you make a political statement.
