Same here! Great neighborhood but someone posted a meme that Lincoln Square is like a college town for people in their 40’s and it is pretty accurate. A lot of great restaurants you can walk to but no night-life to speak of.

I just went to look at the schedule of this fest to see what time UM’s set is…
Whoever scheduled this festival should be fired. UM, STS9, and Goose essentially competing against each other? What the heck?

Wasn’t planning on seeing any UM this year, not by choice but by circumstance, but kinda fell into the opportunity to catch the Vic show on Thursday. I’m pretty pumped to not miss seeing one of my favorite bands for a whole calendar year.
Hoping for that Hey 19 that I’ve been chasing for nearly 20 years now, since my 1 and only time seeing it at the HOB in Chi on 10-4-2002. I’m certain it won’t happen, and that it’ll get played at FMG or at the SR fest, as that has been the pattern for many years now….always miss it by 1 show.

I’ve got a pit ticket, but will likely be towards the back, wherever I can find as much space as possible. I’m not much of a pit fan at this point, but that’s the ticket that fell into my lap, and is where my show travel friends will be as well.

Agree. First-time fest and there are certain festivals that I wish would do this, like Lollapalooza, but I’ve heard from so many people that they are just catching one day of Sacred Rose because the others don’t interest them (and I’ve heard this from people that are going each of the three days).

The sad part is they initially only had tribe and goose 100% overlapping. Then decided to fuck UM over for absolutely no reason. They act like people actually gave a fuck about choosing between STS9 and Goose.
UM and STS9 are not competing against eachother though.

Are STS9 worth seeing these days? Haven’t seen them since their tour with UM like 100 years ago.

I mean UM and STS9 don’t overlap at all. Idk is it really the end of the world if you miss a little bit of a jam band that you can see any time? I feel like people are more butthurt about this than they should be, but maybe I’m just not as big of a jam fan anymore.
