I think Stasik is a pretty good bass player. Not amazing, but he fits the band pretty perfectly and has improved like crazy the last 10 years or so. I also realized 4-5 years ago how much of the improv is based off of his playing

He was cringe af long before IG came around. Heā€™s a good player, was just trolling about that, but heā€™s acted like a douche on and off stage for as long as Iā€™ve been seeing this band.

Even his improvement from 03 to like 07/08 was noticeable. He definitely is getting better and better.

I mean canā€™t we say the same thing about basically any bassist in a band that improvs, regardless of how good/bad they are? Is that necessarily the best means of measurement? Improv is usually built off the rhythm section

Thatā€™s part of the measurement especially in UM. I can think of tons of jams built off Jake or Kris so jams arenā€™t usually built off the bass for them. That said, thatā€™s not the only reason I think heā€™s a good bassist. Heā€™s not wooten but saying heā€™s bad is just wrong.

All fair points, I never said he was bad, I said he was good. I was just trolling earlier. My only point was that saying that a band build improv off a member of the rhythm section isnā€™t the best measurement for a players skill. I know thereā€™s other ways to show heā€™s a good player too, ignore my bullshit
