Drop iceland deets/updates team UM
Havenât done it since Red Rocks 2012 but Iâm sure youâre correct, she is a big Hollywood star these days.
Maybe Iâm missing something - aside from a meet/greet, what did they use to do that theyâre not doing now? Everything seems the same to me?
I donât really think $650 is all that bad for 4 nights of music, a vip set w/open bar, priority seating, and some schwag. I wouldnât pay it. But I donât think less of them for offering it.
In regards to the VIP set not being recorded - in theory, I actually like the idea of the set not being recorded. Could lend to some cool bustouts that the band would prefer to not have recordings of. For the first Bill Graham event, there was debate over whether or not it should have been recorded and the argument was that the band would be more loose for a show that wasnât being taped (kind of like the old Tapers Appreciation shows).
In my long rants against the VIP mentality and current happenings of the band Iâve mentioned a few times now that Taper Appreciation Nights should come back, make the show exclusive for those that attended and not for the people who couldnât make it. I feel like they took that and applied it the worse way possible, only for the VIP folks.
Sort of. Except the VIP sets are bland and boring. The Tapers Appreciation setlists look absolutely bonkers.
They used to coordinate lodging options for one change I havenât seen in a minute.
Tapers got them where theyâre at, VIP custyâs keep them there.
I bet sultan bought all of the VIP packages. He has to get back in the Bands good graces
Yeah but the lodging was always extra $$$. The actual VIP stuff at the show was always offered as a separate package and I donât feel like itâs changed much aside from the meet/greet, which is probably for the best right now that they donât offer.
I agree with this, meet and greet with a decent meal at most of them. Red Rocks had a baller buffet at that one while Summer Camp VIP was a cold deli sandwich and a bag of chips.
The idea of an open bar for a VIP set before the actual show just reeks of danger for me. I love drinking and when you add open bar to the mix I turn into a degenerate.
That reel to real non sense I custy up for was a complete shit show. I was so hammered before they actually played there wasnât even enough drugs in that room to help me snap out of it and remember the show they played. Just remember them playing the haunt and being happy about that.
No one fucking cares. Shut up.
My buddy bought his sister tickets to some VIP Nathaniel Rateliff thing at the Mission Ballroom. Open bar for 3 hours prior to the show so he was absolutely rocked. He eventually got lost and was looking for his sister, security grabbed him and detained him til the end of the show. They let him go after confirming his uber was going to his AirBnB but they needed to check the addresses on everything. Really strange.
Were they worried his âsisterâ was some chick he was harassing or something? Or was he just that drunk they didnât want him going out in public?
In looking for his sister I guess he passed a security station a few times and they thought he was too fucked up and just wandering around on drugs (just drunk though). He handles his shit really well though so the story is surprising. He said he kept telling them âthis is your doing, what do you expect with a 3 hour open bar?â
They made his sister sign a release before they let them leave. Just revisited his texts âthey thought he was in distressâ
âOpen bar at 5:30, show didnât start 'til after 9. Of course I was rockedâ
Breaking news, they just added one more thing to the VIP package

The VIP set isnât being released cause Sultan is sitting in
Thatâs not thinking very National
I mean better all that then getting the ambulance called on you. Had that happen to a chick I was seeing for a bit.
She gets super bombed > time to go back to her place > too drunk to walk properly > I carry/guide her > some dude sees us and assumes Iâm taking a drunk girl home to rape > suddenly cops everywhere > explain the situation > cops donât buy it > she ends up in a hospital > I end up having to try finding somewhere else to stay since I def couldnât drive home/no way to get into her apartment
I donât blame the police or the dude for assuming the worst, but man was that a fucked situation.
Edit: the reason she ended up in hospital because she got belligerent with police, it was either drunk tank or hospital with an IV drip
