Agreed on upwards but I will say that tBH from the Denver NYE’13 run that has part of it as a lyrical was probably one of my top 5 UM moments ever. That whole show is so fucking good.

Yup, this was back when this was just a vocal stew and before it became canned. That show is great!
Feels like Upward doesn’t get played that much lately. Upward was cool after Onward on 7/23/17. After plenty of improv it felt more earned.

Through on the HOF 15 vinyl this evening and holy shit that Rocker II is a monster. While this kind of dance/soaring bounce back was a bit of a trope back in 15/16, this is the type of patient shit that is sorely lacking right now. I lost count how many times they bounced back between A and B sections and teased the peak soo hard before finally leaning into it.

100%. And it’s not like it was a song that produced these 15 minute bangers or anything, but there was some always decent improv with great set placement (love set opening Rocker 2s…well I used to). It used to be one of my favorites, but TLS completely killed it. Sad

My partner walked up Sunday night a Scamp wearing the skeptic shirt, and I did laugh out loud at the sight.
It’s somewhat fitting…but if I may argue semantics I think Umphrey’s Trooper might be more fitting? As in, “I’ve dragged my lady to too many UM shows, she’s a real Trooper.”
