Nah you’re not alone, my crew loves Annie. She was standing by us for a lot of the Deep Dive shows and posted videos of my friend dancing. She definitely makes a choice to be a public persona. She’s really more of a public persona than BB, she’s kinda like his avatar.
In BB’s solo set at Deep Dive he had her on to sing In Spite of Ourselves (they always do that one together) and then he used the opportunity to get her to sing another song with him that she wasn’t expecting, she was like “you have all these great singers here, Allie, (somebody else), JEN, and then there’s little me.” He just really wanted to sing it with his wife

Unfortunately, he writes better songs when he’s emotionally distressed. Waist Down being the obvious exception.
But definitely appreciate that most of the band has settled into stable family life.
I’d prefer he didn’t emo but that’s just me.
