Reading through all this banter about memories and years past, etc….just made me realize that it was 21 years ago today that I randomly happened to meet @peyotecoyote Mark in San Fran in the daytime before the 1st of 3 nights at the Great American Music Hall. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Scotty is so adorable and humble. And, there’s no news of anything, just him being him.

Chatting with him was so awesome back during corn sweat tour. I remember telling him that this little 4 bar phrase he did during a reso Jam brought it up to the next level and he just lit up and remembered exactly what I was talking about. He’s a nice dude and grateful for the opportunity

I love how Scotty is sliding into Kris’ vocal parts. Kris loved taking the higher harmony and really went out over a ledge sometimes with parts that could sound really bad if they’re not performed perfectly (as sometimes they weren’t). Miami Virtue for example, which they haven’t played yet with Scotty. I don’t think anybody expected Scotty to fill all of Kris’ vocal parts when he joined as a drummer but he’s been trying on at least some of them and sometimes it sounds really good. Educated Guess in Madison this year I thought sounded better than I ever heard with Kris. Scotty is just less confident and doesn’t belt it out like Kris does, but Kris is a uniquely talented singer just as he is a world class drummer. I like the work Scotty has done so far in trying to pick up those parts, and also appreciate his restraint in not trying to impose himself over Brendan

To piggyback off you, i feel like Scotty has his range, albeit much different from Kris’. He did solid singing Jack Straw and he’s got bars. I’ll admit that i miss Kris pounding away like some technical gorilla when i get listening to older stuff, I’m perfectly okay with Scotty playing in the background, commanding very little attention for the most part.

Apropos of nothing, 9/16/21 Robot World is stupid good

Any opinions on which song, historically, has the band made tuned best use of →

IC, Synco are 2 that come to mind.

This isn’t exactly what you’re asking, but the transition from Reso —> Mulche’s in 10/21/13 is an all-timer. This was my cousin’s first show and all he wanted was a Mulche’s, so the anticipation for us during the long transition was great. Into one of the best Mulche’s of all time, no less.

OoO is their best song to → imo.

One of the cooler → I ever saw them do was Linear → Conduit at the Calvin Theater in 2012. One of the few times ever that Conduit didn’t have the drum intro, they slide smoothly from the Linear jam into the first verse of Conduit.

Not the biggest fan of the song but → Walletsworth is usually buttery smooth.

Just relistened to this recently, so it’s fresh in my mind, but not sure how many other instances of it there are:

9/27/06
Kabump → Thin Air is pretty, pretty smooth
