Went ahead and did the Nugs $5 a month deal. Was pumped to listen to Burlington S2 but Jesus Christ the mix is awful. Has this been a thing since Chris Mitchell left? Going from Roo Tractorbeam to this was night and day
Some shows are 7 outta 10 good at best, some are pretty bad. I think he has trouble adjusting to different rooms so frequently. Riverside show sounded pretty good but some are just tinny and bad. Joel is pretty low on a lot of the mixes
Well thatās a pretty big bummer. Guess Iāll be listening to Bisco and 2019 UM instead
We were very fortunate with having Chris for so long. My first show with him and first time interacting with him was Barrymore 2011. Just a class act who crushed immediately. He will be missed. When I saw sturgill in Chicago last year I went up to say hello, he recognized me as I gave him a joint and the ol āthanks for what you doā spiel I give every musician/crew member. We chatted for a bit and he gave me a vip wristband.
Chris must be relieved that he doesnāt have to hear āRoom to Breatheā again
always a good move
Aspen Intentions Clear just got a spin
Check out The Linear from 4/4
As well as the 7/3 Linear and Similar Skin
5/24/19 Intentions Clear is one of my favorites. Probably a āhad to be thereā moment. Big storm rolling through in the distance, you could feel it in the air that it was about to unleash on us, and the dissonance between Jake and Joel in that section around the 5:35 mark was so fitting and amplified all of it. Wish they milked that section a bit longer, but UMās gotta ripcord yāknow?
The picture they used for that show fits the vibe pretty well. Just one of those show moments Iāll never forget.
Fuck I miss Summer Camp.
Canāt remember if I found this on here or not but this playlist covers a lot of the 2019 highlights. Although it is missing 10/23/19 Robot World which is one of my favorites
3/1/19 is a really solid show too. Fucking love the crunchy all in time. Plus tomorrow never knows totally caught me off guard and I lost my shit.
Were you there? Great jam and show wasnt bad from what I remember. But that venue is awful and Iāve never seen a worse crowd in my life. Legit made a problem around me for all the chad bros chomping through that RW jam
One of my favs of 19. Like the 1348 from Detroit (forget year) with the another one bites the dust mini-jam, it was too good for Billy Jean jam to ruin.
Yeah that venue sucks. I remember it was a Wednesday night and I was still in college so everyone just wanted something to do. I couldnāt believe some of the people I saw there. So that adds up
I was up front pretty much the whole show. Remember the second set being kinda boring to me. Nice Little Gift as well
Pretty sure thats a remodeled venue too. If its the place im thinking of Biscuits had some legendary shows there back in the day. There was a big neon sign that said Orgasmatron and a mechanical bull that came out of the floor.
Dumb question, and showing my lack of musical knowledge. What exactly does Farag do, or percussionists and 2nd drummers in general? Iāve gathered that Mike Dillon sometimes comes off as a keyboard/piano piece with his vibraphone, but Iām just curious to if theyāre truly integral to the composition. I love bongos and pitchblocks, but idk what the hell the purpose is, other than sounding cool.
SHRN and probably the wrong thread, but thanks in advance.
Listen to some of those '23 Kris-less summer shows. Andy is on drums on Loose Ends & Synco from 8/25. Youāll see how his perc world contributes to the sound
The Castanets in Plunger.
