April 2024 is going to be a top tier month of UM in hindsight I think. I was wondering how playing shows leading up to UMBowl would work out. It did seem like a lot for Myers especially when they first proposed it, 10 sets in 4 days. But I think they were all warmed up and ready for the main event. This was a really fun week to be an UM fan, I’m glad all of it was streamed!

I only got out to UMBowl N2 but based on that and listening to the rest of the run I totally agree. The looseness and humor definitely stood out to me. Lot of joking around, stage banter, etc. That comfort and happiness definitely carried over to the playing as well.

Joking aside, if UMBowl is meant as a gift of appreciation to the fans, as they mentioned a couple times, they thanked us plenty this weekend. I was never bored at any point, S2 weirdness included.
9 out of 10 were pretty good. Most consistent 4 day run that I’ve seen since I got on board.

You can hear Bayliss cracking up while trying to sing the lyrics for Pay the Snucka in Burlington too. They definitely were feeling good for this whole run.

Be nice. It seems like they got content, don’t act like it doesn’t happen to all of us from time to time, they’re people too.
They woke up a bit in the last month or so. Some of the earlier shows show their potential
per example (1) DC>Penn’s Peak and the midwest run was solid. Some other good nuggets in there as well. Now that they’re hitting their (small) stride let’s hope late spring/sUmmer kicks ass and takes names as well
