Turns out I was correct. From 2018

The Howard Stern Tribute to David Bowie will feature a wide variety of artists inspired by the late musician, performing his songs with their own inventive styles and interpretations. The contributors range from legends such as Peter Frampton, Daryl Hall, and Todd Rundgren; to recent breakthroughs including Greta Van Fleet, Biffy Clyro, and The Struts; and a rare collaboration between rock stalwarts Umphrey’s McGee, Huey Lewis, and saxophonist Jeff Coffin.

I am guessing Huey needed money and figured drug band fans were the only people dumb emough to pay for and listen to a Let’s Dance studio track.

UM should take a page out of the Goose/Billy Strings playbook and offer a full tour of free video streams for nugs subscribers. I really think that is a huge part of those bands recent success is the free streaming. It’s like the modern equivalent of the Grateful Dead taping policy. Free audio used to work well when there wasn’t as many entertainment options (video games/streaming services), but now you need to offer more if you want to compete for people’s attention span.

They really should. Especially with some hype and momentum this winter tour with Kris being back. Hope they do some more nugs streams, would make too much sense. KB’d

Biscuits doing free Youtube streams a bit there while they were ascending helped their current cause too imo
