I had gotten burned out and bored with UM by 2017 after being an obsessive nerd since 2005, didn’t see any shows in 2018 and then just a couple over the next 4 years - obviously the pandemic played a part… But I went to night 1 of UMBowl last year and caught the bug again. I liked the new album more than most on here it seems, and for the most part have enjoyed seeing those tunes getting mixed in to the live shows. On pace to see more shows this year than I have in quite some time.

It’s been a great year for electronic, so that’s where my attention has been drawn to. Still waiting on some TN squeak to fluff

I might’ve GITV for Wilmington if I’d have seen its setlist ahead of time, but 6 hours is pushing it these days

I’m having a harder time dragging the “wife” to shows. She’s coming to Salvage Station though.
This is exactly my sentiment.
I’ve gone through the “I like this” to “I fucking LOVE this and NEED this” to “meh, not good” to “I’m done for a while” and now I’m back to “good god I love this band so much”
It also helps that they’re playing very well right now. I think it started with DUMB tour 2.0 and just sent them into sending it, which is awesome.

I just try to avoid listening to UM in the off-season and then take high quality MDMA during gametime and it works great for me. This strategy works so well that I even feel inspired to ter a little so I can maybe hit my 100th in 2024

I think a lot of you guys are mostly just older and have different priorities, which totally makes sense. I’m sure I’ll feel the same as life changes. I’ve had small periods of jadedness but I take a year off from seeing a ton of shows and it goes away. I don’t think I’d ever see more than 10 shows a year anymore. 6-8 seems like the sweet spot for me.
