I really don’t like breaker but that’s not what this post is about.
This is my 500th post saying I miss seeing UM. I saw 20 shows last year and vowed to back off and focus on other stuff this year, but man this is too much. Red Rocks being canceled is just the worst. Seeing UM all over the country last year was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in my life and they were so on fire last year. It’s a bummer to think I won’t get to see them or all of you at all in 2020.

Also, I’m hearing rumors (from a not super credible source) of an UM drive in show. Fingers crossed this happens.

That. And you have to think about who they could get to assist with broadcasting this from a small studio, in this time of quarantine. I think that alone would make you turn to a company that you have worked with in the past.
Is that a serious question? I’ve never had issues with nugs. OTOH, I’ve NEVER had a stream from tg that didn’t fuck up. While I haven’t purchased a tourgigs stream in years - for those very reasons - this board still overflows with proof that the same chronic bandwidth issues still exist with every new stream. The fact that UM continues to use them at all completely baffles me.

I honestly haven’t had a real issue with a tourgigs stream in years and have seen nugs have their own issues with the couple Dead and Co shows i’ve streamed through them. Plenty of lag and audio issues thru them.
I agree with Jwelsh, in middle of a global pandemic it’s easier to go with what you know and what happens to work out logistically. It’s not as easy to book a production crew as it was pre-covid
Add on the fact that the price has gradually increased over the years and it is downright embarrassing. UM does a lot of things right but they have completely missed the mark with their streaming.
nugs has their own issues with the app and their streaming but that’s for another day.
Literally every issue mentioned is the same with nugs. Increasing price, tougher restrictions on sharing passwords, and a mediocre product.
I’ve had no issues with the 8 or 9 streams I’ve watched via nugs.
The 12-15 UM shows I streamed from 2015 to 2019 all had issues that had me emailing tourgigs asking for a refund. The only streams that ever worked for me were the Billy Asheville shows, and the only reason I took a chance on tourgigs was because of Billy.
Just my personal experience.
