I think it’s fair game to throw jabs at a guy who desperately needs attention from UM/V4J. I see all these people just blowing everything he posts and I think it’s lame. If people want to do that, go for it. If I want to make fun of that on a dbmb, I don’t see why I shouldn’t. It’s ok to criticize someone who you think is being an asshole. This is also a guy who I’ve seen use some non PC language in his posts but I don’t see anyone going after him for that. It’s not all unicorns & rainbows; darkness will always be present.
There is more to life than a mediocre jam band and using them as a way to prop up your own music projects is just fucking annoying. As a fellow failing musician, just post your shit online like the rest of us and enjoy the fact that no one listens to it. Life is better that way.
I would love more JS discussion, perhaps I will compile a top 20 JS list at some point in the future…will be much more difficult than my top 20 UM show list.
With regards to my New York Jets, Adam Gase is by-far the worst coach in the NFL and quite possibly the worst coach in the NFL ever. I feel bad for Darnold as he has never been given much talent around him to succeed. Letting Robbie Anderson go to Carolina via FA was insane as he was always good for us and not utilized correctly. I like Joe Douglas as our GM, I hope we go 0-16 and draft Trevor Lawrence and start over yet again. I wouldn’t be surprised if TL pulls a Payton Manning and stays in college for his senior season if we land the #1 pick. I feel like Darnold is damaged goods at this point and is most likely a lost cause…
…thank God Steve Cohen was approved as the new owner of my Mets and the NYR have one of the best young teams in the NHL. At least I have hope for my two other favorite teams currently!
I took FB off my phone last week and it’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve made in a looong time. Social media is horrible, it is a disease that festers into your brain. I was on FB a million years ago when it was still just for college kids, and I thought like many that SM would bring us together. Nope nope. Total opposite in many respects, it was undermined, used and abused by monied interests, political interests, you name it. To get to my point, the UM FB group’s level of worship/blind praise is pretty damn ridiculous most of the time, it doesn’t bother me because I try to imagine who’s saying these things and put myself in their shoes, but I can still call it out as being uncritical and hyperbole, and the Bears are complete trash, but the Patriots are worse trash at the moment. But that’s for the NFL thread, this thread is called Random Spontaneous Thoughts about UM so let’s get back to talking about Sultan and Bisco.
Probably should cross-post to the confessions thread but I listened to a bunch of the yams on the best of 2019 list today and I was very into it. 2019 UM was great; too bad I only saw one show and it was meh.
