Trying not to let an opener ruin this for me but jfc. Really changes my outlook on the run
They have it billed as a co-bill on that poster. If he was just opener i would think it would say w/ Andy Frasco
It says “w/ Andy Frasco” on the salt shaker
I get what you’re driving at though
Have fun with battle of the bands part 2 in Chicago!
The pic doesn’t even have the complete band name in it
Just get grandstand and show up for UMs set, gives ya more time to enjoy Chicago!
I was hoping this run would be a chance for Bort holiday reunions, and I’m not gonna let Frasco ruin it for me. If i use my yearly hall pass properly, I’ll be on too many drugs to care.
If this is actually a co-bill I’ll be super bummed. I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but I don’t get the appeal of Frasco whatsoever.
UM is playing two sets
Frasco might pull better ticket numbers these days TBH. The rubes do love an idiot.
That was truly horrendous
You and me both man. Seriously dampens my excitement
UM is a fantastic band to get down with, party on.
Frasco is like the pop of the jam world. Easily consumed by the casuals, doesn’t require a ton of facilities to enjoy it. Once you move into the actual jambands like UM, tDB, Cheese, Panic and Phish you find less of a need tor the jamband lite that Frasco represents. He’s every negative stereotype of the scene put into an act, maybe that’s why it doesn’t sit right.
That’s just like, my opinion, man
I can’t imagine anyone is using Frasco as a gateway to the jam world
Probably not. I was reaching for a point, probably way off base like usual. Carry on
The U.N. IS the gateway
Frasco is a caricature of the jam band world, much like how I look at Scrambled Greg or Mihali or whoever. Not my cuppa.
Scrambled Greg and Mihali are both incredibly more talented than Frasco. Or rather, in my experience Frasco isn’t going out of his way to display musicianship on stage.
Yea but he drinks liquor and eats mushrooms on stage so its cool
That’s kinda what I’m driving at, in a way. I’ve seldom caught clips of his shows that make ya go “holy shit, how did you do that with an instrument”. It’s more “holy shit, why did you do that”
