Dude have you done an UM NYE? I’ve done a few runs (07,08,09, part of 15, 16) and they are always a blast. I would love to be in Atlanta this year to ring it in for the first time since the pandemic happened but I just can’t justify dropping $1200 on a flight when there are eight West Coast shows I can do pretty easily a few months later. I would go if I were you. It’s going to be awesome!

I have not done an UM NYE run before, and it’s looking like I won’t be able to hit many shows before summer of 2023 so very tempted.
The Vols were originally supposed to be in Nola for sugar bowl, which I would’ve easily attended. But not it’s looking like orange in Miami and currently not in the shape to book a $700 round trip, hotel rooms, tickets, etc.
BUT Atlanta is very manageable and rooms by the Roxy aren’t too shabby. So leaning towards that. I’ll know for sure tomorrow but do not know anyone going besides bort fam. I’ll get it squared away tomorrow, but UM NYE being my backup plan is not shabby living

And dude rolling solo to runs is not a bad thing, in fact, I kind of prefer it. My ex was into Umphrey’s and she and I probably saw them like 50ish times together, but I’ve always enjoyed being a free agent. I like to rent my own car, get my own hotel room, have control over my own shit, and just plug in where the getting’s good. Atlanta has an awesome crew. I think if you linked up with @Southern_Dan , @Yawnspterodactyl , and all their friends you’d have a blast! Last time I was in Atlanta I got a girl pregnant that wasn’t my girlfriend at the time while seeing those UM shows in Athens in 2015 lol. Good times looking back on it. My life could be a whole lot different though if we went through with the pregnancy.

same. ive made a lot of friends the past few years through umphreys which has been wonderful, but I also sort of miss going to shows alone and meeting strangers and being available to wander into the night as I please without worrying anyone. kinda a big reason for me leaning towards doing the CA shows over the NY shows this winter

Starting to get excited to attend this next week. I know we will get bombarded with new songs but they have put full effort into everything they’ve done playing-wise since Jake’s break. I’m sure there will be some great highlights.

although I was planning on going to Miami on 12/30, I am getting nervous with this whole southwest meltdown. have a layover in Baltimore and if I get stuck there and have to miss the game, or even worse, have to spend NYE there, then I’m gonna lose my mind.
my buddy booked the hotel and understands, but going on this big tangent to say that right now, I am leaning towards bailing on Miami and doing 2 nights of WSP or ATL UM. if anyone is needing someone to split a room with or has a hotel close to the venue that they are staying at with cheap rooms, please let me know as I gotta figure this shit out today
