Fair point. Just seems weird to consistently leave money on the table. They are well-off, but not mega stars who you would think wouldnt really benefit from a few extra thousand dollars per run
But also they are old dude. Old people aint about the bullshit
I would probably be the same way i guess
They probably bought houses down south for like 250 grand in 1998 that are worth a million bucks now and would be worth 2 million on the east coast. Paid that shit off. Sent the kids to school. Bought some cars. They chillin man.
I think this has always been their mentality. At least its the only that makes sense after all this time
this is also the same band that turned down opening for the rolling stones back in the day
No matter how hard these tickets are there isnât a single panic fan on the planet that wants to see them move on from the riverside
Interesting that theyâve come full circle and are now opening for The Rolling Stones this year.
The band has been pretty vocal about their love for the Riverside too. Itâs the best indoor room in the country with the best staff/security in the country. That goes a long way for the band and fans attending the shows.
Yup, everyone absolutely loves that room and the band always delivers some of their best shows of the year there. Itâs a tradition at this point and they would probably scrap the run entirely before they move onto a larger room. Probably 80% of the fans in attendance travel to the shows from out of state and we know we could easily travel to an arena show if we wanted the comfort of knowing tickets wonât be such a hassle. That room is very special to the band and fans that at the end of all the hassle and headaches itâs totally worth it. As long as theyâre a band they will continue their October riverside run. Stoked for this year! Got a couple three day passes thanks for a little help from a homie!
I got a couple tickets for Saturday as well thanks to a buddy. So letâs party man.
Weâll definitely link up and party!
People make it sound like the Riverside staff gives every single patron a free bag of blow and a hand job. Its a great room, but its not some mecca. Not taking anything away from it, i just always find it a little odd when people talk about it like its the greatest and most unique venue in the world
Itâs a special room with a lot of history for panic fans, youâre over thinking it.
Plus downtown Milwaukee is perfect for a three night run. All the hotels, bars and restaurants you can ask for within walking distance, they close down the entire block in front of the venue and have live music and bars (or you can just bring a cooler and drink free beer). And yes, to top it off the riverside is as good as people say it is. The staff is amazing, itâs never oversold or uncomfortable, itâs a free for all party and the drinks are cheap. In the day of age of soulless live nation venues itâs nice to have a room as friendly and welcoming as the riverside is.
It is one of my favorite midwest venues, no doubt. Just always get surprised when people talk about it like its red rocks or the gorge
Its just a theater with reasonsible drink prices and re-entry. Those two things are definitely a game changer, but put similar rules in place somewhere else and there isnt anything else that makes it much different from any other theater its size
This is a fair point and that alone makes it better than most rooms
It really makes all the difference. Thereâs some better looking rooms in the Midwest and it certainly isnât red rocks or the gorge but thereâs a certain comfortability to the place that a lot of other theaters lack.
Yea, you are right. It is a great place and I love that part of the city. Getting hung-up on insignificant details. Wonderful place to see a concert
Shifting back to Panic specifically. What is the after market usually like leading up to the shows? Would love to make it up last minute if time/money allowed
Last year was pretty brutal, I was able to find a ticket for Saturday for a homie but didnât see really anyone else be able to find any.
The Riverside is amazing but I donât necessarily think itâs fair to compare it to the Gorge and RRx when comparing venues (get in here @Gregaforce7, weâre stealing joy to compare).
- always spacious when sold out
- good beer prices
- great sound
- extremely relaxed security
- re-entry
- Milwaukee is highly underrated
^ throw in that your favorite band throws down there every year in October and itâs hard to not fall in love with the Riverside.
I love the Riverside, one of my favorite venues, but compare it to a 20,000+ seat amphitheater that overlooks the Columbia River and it loses 10/10 times.
