Let's Talk About Jake

Loved getting to see Jake play with Conspirator back in 2005. It was right when I was really getting into UM and the Biscuits, and it was a blast. This is not the show I saw, I saw Wakarusa, but this is a cool show I use to listen to a lot. Joe Russo plays on it, too.

@Serac posted this gem in the Today In Umphrey’s McGee History thread recently. I had never seen it before, but it is a clip of Jake with Conspirator after a D.U.M.B. tour show in Raleigh. Check out the inter"play" between Cinninger and Magner - that must have been a blast! Thanks for sharing that.

Here’s something different

I remember also seeing video of him sitting in with Zappa Plays Zappa at the Jammys but can’t find it now

Fuckin love me some Jake. Nothing like when bayliss is laying down 3rd position patterns and Jake starts ripping on top of it.

The metal chugs can be frustrating, especially when they ripcord a promising stew

Honestly I think stasik is the critical link between the band. When Jake starts a stew, it gets too metal, but when pony lays down the A section, bayliss seems most likely to throw out a cool pattern…then we got a steeew going

I think I have an audio recording for Florentine Pogen but I don’t think video circulates.
