King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

agreed single rules. wasn’t sure it could hold my attention being 18 mins but it did sheeesh they are good. I was leaning towards sitting out Boston Calling because the single day is absurd but now I dunno damn.

Love the new track. Also love this excerpt from Pitchfork:

Originally planned as a collection of unreleased songs, Omnium Gatherum became a project where the full band recorded new music. “This recording session felt significant,” Stu Mackenzie said in a statement. “Significant because it was the first time all six Gizzards had gotten together after an extraordinarily long time in lockdown. Significant because it produced the longest studio recording we’ve ever released. Significant because (I think) it’s going to change the way we write and record music—at least for a while…. A turning point. A touchstone. I think we’re entering into our ‘jammy period.’ It feels good.”

Satanic Slumber Party singles are pretty terrible. I’ve liked pretty much everything this band has ever released (maybe with the exception of some of the thrash metal) but this is bad…

I will say, I have no idea who they are but I am a big fan of the name Tropical Fuck Storm.

Not my thing at all, but it does play into their ability to evolve and push themselves in different directions. That is what i find the most appealing about the band.

totally. i was expecting them to sound much worse based on the tracks with gizz but i kinda dug what little snippets i heard.

I’m pretty excited to hear the whole new album especially after reading the quote that @dtbar1 posted about getting into a jammy period of their career. Stoked to hear what that sounds like and agree their variety and versatility is absolutely one of the coolest parts of the band.

You can stop paying attention to KG for like 6 months and then come back and have no idea what anyone is talking about

I have a buddy looking for an extra to the St. Paul show if anyone has one.

I did it. $175 but honestly for the venue size I’m not too upset. I’ve paid more for Phish before. Seeing KG Sunday and next Thursday now!
