Time to kick his ass and watch him start @cryan
Well that’s probably a $100 or less a month revenue from Spotify, so trust fund still applies.
The Disco Biscuits invented a genre. Something 98% of jambands cant say.
“Music to take drugs to” long predates the biscuits
Yea, i stand up for UM when people who dont know shit about them talk smack too, though. Papa Bear insticts kick in and a few minutes later i realize im essentially arguing against my own actual thoughts.
Not a genre
Yeah. My point is UM didnt fully invent the sound they came up with in 1998. They were just able to progress it (add Jake).
I’ve said it before, and I’ll likely say it again, but the grateful dead in fall of 1973 alone is more significant than the sum total of all jamband music.
I was just gonna say this. In reality. The Dead is the only answer. But I still stand behind the Disco Biscuits as well. You dont have to like them to agree. But Brownie will tell you they wouldn’t be where they are without the Dead and Phish. But the Dead and Phish aren’t jamtronica.
They’re still a band and they’ve got a pretty solid following too.
I like Tauk. Yeah their setlists are kinda repetitive, but they’re pretty unlike any other bands in the scene
It’s all branches off the same tree, and the Dead are the taproot/trunk. I still like (some) jambands, but it certainly isn’t the most innovative scene. It’s still fun to take drugs to though a couple times a year…get out of the house, see some homies, and bust out fire dance moves.
Yeah for sure. I’ll eat all the dicks on that first Tauk comment. Legit had no idea.
Honestly I think LSD is one of the least useful and least interesting psychedelics, but the entire scene literally wouldn’t exist without it. To pretend like it would is a denial of both history and reality
Tauk certainly has sustained but let’s not pretend it most likely couldn’t have happened without dolan’s trust fund. Being able to be a “broke” musician trying to make it is a lot easier when your dad is a billionaire
Only one of these logos is a palindrome bro
Tauk is a solid band. Not going to follow them around on tour but I enjoy a lot of their stuff. This is kind of a backhanded compliment I guess but it’s great background music to get stuff done to. Good enough to get me grooving but not amazing enough to make me lose my focus on the task at hand.
Yeah, ive always enjoyed em. That being said I havent listened to em since like 2015, but still enjoyed walking into their opening sets
ya’ll remember when Tauk paid me to do their nugs tapes for a year or so? That was fun
Thats sick, I forgot about that
