Iāve obviously shown that i donāt know shit but if Jake is currently not reliable, wouldnāt spending the last few weeks scrounging up somebody to jump in on guitar for a weekend or 2 make sense from a good production standpoint? They had no shortage of drummers ready to fill in at 2 different points.
Without those fill-in drummers, the shows woulda been canceled. They donāt need to cancel these shows. Also - part of me feels like those shows were tryouts for some of the fill-ins.
This whole Jake absence is so weird. Credit to the band/org for keeping what happened under wraps. Itās clear it isnāt a substance problem.

My shit hasnāt been speculation - itās a fact and directly from the band. Multiple convos at diff times/places. Iām trying (failing) to be respectful of those sources/relationships. Oh well.
Are band members consistently lying in private convos about this across many months? Perhaps but thatās v v unlikely. (Granted, they were apparently lying or oblivious about the punching thing).
Canāt say it any more plainly: Jake has a drinking problem and - more importantly - is aggro when heās drunk. He needs to not be drinking to be in the band.
Like I said before, believe whatever you want and cope as hard as youād like but those are the facts.
Anyways, Iām done expending energy in this thread (that isnāt hot dog related).
