I suspected the same thing when viewing a live stream from the couch early in 2026. Seemed like Scotty was missing a lot of Jake’s cues and Jake seemed frustrated. I’m sure Jake misses Kris’ playing and I wonder if he was outvoted when that decision was presented.

Good post and this lines up with my perception.
I heard that part of Kris being booted was because he was being toxic on the talkback mics. He likes to take the lead and it often had great results but maybe it clashed with the communication styles of the other members, such as Joel.
I don’t think any of this has to do with why Jake is absent but it’s certainly one of the noticeable differences. Jams without him are longer but less ADD / dynamic.

They should announce either way- it would be the right thing to do. They could have said something like “Jake will be out until further notice” or something, but they didn’t. Up until now, it’s been “he’s out for March run” and “out for Deep Dive.”
But the closer we get to the next run of shows, the more it looks like they won’t say anything.

Based on the two prior notices they’ve given, that’s not true. Again, they are a business, that business is selling concert tickets. As they’ve done before, they’ll will wait until the very last second to inform people if he’s not coming to sell tickets today & tomorrow. The last announcement was written on apple notes and only posted to their stories on IG & Facebook last minute.
There is no world where they don’t know right now if he’ll be there or not in 3 days.
