Feel like he has been interviewed by a lot by guitar people and has established himself as a premier guitar player in the music world. He has more name value than Kris, not to mention the fact that he has countless composing credits and isnt just listed as a contributor on tracks.

Well, Kris has a Masters degree in Jazz drumming which certainly contributes to musical pedigree. I feel like Jake may have gone to Berklee, unsure of graduation status. I feel like it would be difficult to say one has more musical āpedigreeā than the other. Maybe if one of them came from a long line of well-known musicians?
Regardless, I agree that Jake probably has more marketable skills and greater name recognition.

Can someone please elaborate on this assault on a homeless person topic? 
Iāve been out of the loop but this Jaco drama has pulled me back in.
If I recall, the rumor was that Jake had been dealing with a broken finger on his left hand after getting into an altercation with a homeless person either before or after their show in Portland, ME in February. Speculation was that allowing the allegedly broken finger to heal up was part of the initial absence at Suwanee.
What led to that altercation if it even happened is potentially relevant to his elongated absence, but idk if anyoneās really gotten to the bottom of what did or didnāt happen that night in Portland.
Also nobody really knows anything at the end of the day except the band and management. And that homeless guy in Portland.
