I haven’t asked my AI lawyer about this yet but if Jake punched that bum and got sued, is it possible they’re going after his UM paychecks but can’t get his Willie Waldman scrilla? And therefore he’s taking a leave of absence rather than let the courts give the bum his $$? seems far fetched but I am compelled consider every possibility.

Incorrect, they’re a business. It is financially in their best interests to hold that info (if it’s the case) as long as possible.

Possibly, if Jake was arrested and entered into pretrial diversion/court ordered rehab or similar. Whomever he punched wouldn’t have to “sue” Jake if it was witnessed or the person pressed charges. But I defer to our resident legal expert and crystal ball keeper, RyanF, for his take.

If Jake leaves you can always spin the Gorham/Robertson era of Thin Lizzy. Nightlife → Fighting → Jailbreak → Johnny the Fox which features some of the best guitar harmonies and dual solos ever recorded.
In all seriousness though, the Jake/BB interplay combined with their individual skill is what made me an UM fan. When twin guitars are done right, there’s nothing better. Jake and BB have given me tons of those rightly done moments over the years.
Loved the jake-less show in Solana Beach, don’t know how many I could take before I started to really miss Jake.

Sorry. That was a little much on my part.
The recent shows without Jake are excellent. The baton is being passed around the stage and everyone is stepping up. The few shows I listened to prior to Jake leaving were not good. I basically quit on the band, but came back to check out what all the fuss was about for these recent shows. I’m glad I did.

Ive certainly enjoyed the shows, but feel it’s been on par with quality distribution with Jake recently. My 3 major observations:
- Scotty and the mix in general much better now.
- Compositions take a hit without Jake
- BB’s playing during jams has been

I definitely notice him getting more comfortable and doing different things. Plus, he’s pretty solid when he sings.
