I have noticed this as well…idk why.
Hoping next upgrade will fix it and it is simply and upstream issue. But it might be related to recent storage improvements. All photos and assets are now served from a different location than the server, to improve speed and reliability. But perhaps this migration unintentionally altered the favicon in some way.

As an aside, I have one more non trivial task remaining in my stringz of improvements.
The last thing I am doing is resizing our server. If I do this properly, it should take roughly an hour of downtime
Once I complete this task, my goal (mostly to myself) is for us to have a >99.9% yearly uptime target. With the new infrastructure changes, this should be doable. That comes out to no more than 8 hours and 45 minutes of downtime per year.
