I guess my thought process was:
Make a site called lot chat, have an UM room in it for #the-bort…but also other rooms for biscuits fans and phish fans and deadheads etc.
Then it actually has the chance of attracting more people. I’m not going to deal with hosting another service just for the same 20 people with no real benefit proposed nah mean?
Not even a sister site. Just a different site that has some growth possibility

yep, i do. i think it’s a good idea though, esp if there’s a thread for each show and you could track the setlist pinned at the top while shitposts scroll freely underneath. most of the small streaming sites are missing out by not doing this already like YT and the other big guys.

I could talk about the fragmentation of Umphrey’s discussion on the internet until I’m blue echoed in the face. I wanted to make a Slack or Discord for the last Dominican Holidaze but didn’t get that off the ground…first year I went someone on the Bort made up cards with all our room numbers on them and it was awesome…but once they moved it to Mexico they stopped giving out room numbers in advance.
Besides the Bort, you have Facebook groups and Reddit and Phantasy Tour to name a few sites pulling away discussions from any central repository for Umphrey’s discussion on the internet in 2020. I’ve often felt a Slack like solution was going to be the evolution of communication for communities on the internet but it hasn’t really taken off outside of corporate America and Discord’s following.
Completely unrelated, but I would love to not see previews of the pinned posts in Umphrey’s discussion. I wish they were more compact and collapsible so I could see the latest topics first and not pinned taking up the full window.
The more time I spend on here, the more I enjoy it. Kudos to Root and whoever else got this off the ground. It was important to pass the torch in 2010 and it was important again last year. Keep up the great work brahs!

It’s dead. We killed it during quarantine. Played about thirty games rapid fire. It was too much. We mostly blame @Whinergetsnothing and @hbbubblebath

I’ll probably be good for one in a month. Been swamped on a project with a tight schedule lately and have been putting in 50 hour weeks. No time for sheep until this thing is over.
