Has UM's popularity declined?

Yeah, that’s why I caveat and say in my experience. With that said, it is pretty damn close to everyone I know. At the very least, almost everyone I know has had it in their house. I’m in that category as well. Wife had it, but myself and the girls haven’t gotten it yet. No idea how we avoided that one (:crossed_fingers:).

Didn’t want to go down a covid rabbit hole. Everyone should do what they are comfortable with. I personally don’t think the vax is doing much with Omricon transmission, because it hasn’t in my circles. Initially I was just saying it in reference to the low PP numbers, or at least the perceived low numbers.

I get that. But it doesn’t account for severity. That’s my point. Some of this could be just people playing it safe. I just don’t have that info

I hardly know anybody that’s gotten it

Well if a 3rd of the people being admitted and spending more than 14 days in hospital are vaccinated I don’t think it’s fair to say that Omicron is “really weak”.

That’s crazy! I really am not embellishing at all either. Could be that we mostly hang with people that have young kids. :man_shrugging:

Known a bunch here in Michigan.

Maybe I’m missing something but it looks like 3/60 are >14 days (in this very small sample size)

Total of 8 over 14 days, 3 are vaxxed.

Furthermore 0-13 days is a wild range

Not to mention the “hospitalized with covid” versus “hospitalized for covid” distinction…

So I’d say if 5% of people have an extended stay then I’m not too worried

Whatever. Just chop some bad persons head off on TV.

Agree, the characterization of this as “really weak” was my trigger point. Now we are just going in circles.

What’s weak? Your counterpoint to “it’s weak” was “people are going to the hospital.” That’s not a solid response imo since people go to the hospital for minor shit literally every day

UM probably appreciates this digression

The dash bort being overly pedantic? So surprised.

:raising_hand_man: And I’m painfully guilty of doing this too so takes one to know one.

my sister went to the ER when she was back in town a couple weekends ago.

She swore it wasn’t a hangover.

but I’m pretty sure she was just hungover.

visits/admitted patients aren’t the best thing to base shit off of because of the wide variety of possibilitie within that category.

i didn’t wear a mask for 4 days in the biggest hotbed in the country and the 10 other dudes i was with were equally as exposed and none of us got even a little sick. omicron is weak as fuck. soft as baby shit. call it stasikcron.
