Has UM's popularity declined?

Seeing some FB posts that the Bend show is no longer up for sale anymore, but nothing confirmed yet(at 3 am)

That sucks. Tough out there.

When my dad decided to move from Bend he said that the cool folks were starting to disappear while the rich California types that sold their 2 bedroom houses for a million dollars were starting to take over. Makes me wonder if the hetty crowd isn’t really in Bend anymore.

Bend is still super heady. At least it was the last time i was there

Bend is not very heady from my experiences. Give me Eugene over Bend any day! Bend is for yuppies…

I mean Eugene is one of the crunchiest cities in America. Not many places are that wooked out

Idk. My dad lived there for a while and did say it was getting lame. But to be fair, he went through 3 summers of awful smoke/fire warnings and was tired of it.

Yikes, not good news. Let’s blame Jon Popper

The venue was way too big for these bands (8k+) in central Oregon. They should have booked the Cuthbert (5k) in much headier and closer to Portland Eugene.

I was going to get 2 Tuesday shows in one year. Didn’t they consider me before making this decision?

WYTSC?

I should rank each show I’ve seen by day and then take the top five shows from each day to see which I would rank in my top 25 overall to determine which day is the headiest because I cry foul at the never miss a Sunday show with Umphey’s I’d wager I’ve seen more Wednesday bangers than Sunday ones.

Tuesday is the one day I haven’t caught a show yet. Hope to see you in Jacksonville!

So you are a Saturday night 'Phreak and I am a Friday night 'Phreak?

Break out the booty wax!

Also, I respect the stats. Nice work homie!

Thanks bud, when you’ve been following a band for 19 years the stats will sure add up.

If given the choice i’d probably avoid fri/sat shows, but work and tour schedules dictate that those are the easiest to attend. The only times I’ve been able to GITP were for Thursday-Sunday shows.

NYE is on a Tuesday this year…jess sayin’.

Denver is a 2.5 hour flight from PDX. If those Mission Ballroom shows come to fruition, I would highly advise making them happen. I’ve only caught two shows there (Biscuits x 2 in 2022) but that place was awesome. I’m praying to jah that they bless us with an easy to do New Years run for me which would be Denver.

And I am more than likely going to Jacksonville. Took that Wednesday off work in case I made Bend happen so I can leave whenever just gotta figure out how I get down there. I’ll probably try to coordinate with @sabretooth so I’m sure we will definitely be linking at some point in the evening.

I agree with you. The real freaks are the ones that come out on weeknights from my experiences. Tuesday shows in Boise, Albuquerque, and Omaha confirmed this for me. On the weekends you have the 9-5ers with pent up stress release causing them to go overboard too. Everything is much more chill on a weeknight. Low stress, low expectations, that’s when the magic happens. I think one of the positives of being manic depressive is I haven’t held down a 9 to 5 schedule my whole adult life so I have had stretches that allowed me to catch as many weeknight shows as I have (111).

I noticed this on stubbhub. Looks like the St. Louis show may be moving to The Pageant. ~5000 cap → ~2300 cap.

The Redding show has also been moved from outside to inside
