I’ve heard endless stories like this and witnessed plenty myself, half the time they’d work with the cops to frame and extort kids. Fuck that place, would honestly prefer a generic live nation experience if they reopen the place.
One of my all time favorite live concert moments was when Jay Electronica jumped off stage not once, but twice, to beat the living shit out of fans in the crowd during his set. Congress security were too busy shaking people down to do anything.
Oh, yea, cops were clearly in on it.
Lmfao $27 million
Lololololol oh man holy shit
The Biscuits selling it out in January '09 might have also been the peak of their popularity. They were so stoked on themselves the next night in Urbana. Barber blaring Flo Rida backstage drunk as fuck talking about how they “made it.”
Honestly loved the Congress. Not too far from where I lived at the time, my buddy owned a bike shop across the street that we would park behind. It was an absolute shit hole so you could pretty much get away with anything on the inside aside from smoking. If you got caught smoking you would be tackled by a 300+ lb samoan, which made for good people watching on the inside.
Whoa
I got off easy. Apparently when they started to primarily do EDM shows in 2011-2012, shit started to get really ugly.
EDM kids are usually younger, dumber and have more money
What is the EDM equivalent of a Trustifarian called?
I think they’re just called EDM kids
I call 'em Molly kidz
Saw a confrontation entering a Flux Pavilion show back then (cc: @WhoDatVols)
Security asked a guy to take off his shoe. He didn’t, was promptly bodyslammed unconscious. EMTs calmly hauled him away
What the fuuuuuck
Can I get a sword up in here?
Sworded
Back from the dead here. CO plans fell through but I’ll be at my first Summer Camp instead…

Well that was certainly an experience. Unfortunately had a massive falling out during Scamp with some “friends” who I have traveled with and seen UM with for years. Turns out they are actually inconsiderate assholes. Really soured me on the scene. Gonna be awhile before I want to see this band again…
Sorry man, that’s tough
