The jubilee is awesome. Awesome venue, small/chill crowd, hetty Grateful Dead vibes, and overall a solid lineup for a cheap price. About all I need from a festival these days
Big meh
Seeing Thee Sacred Souls that high on a bill is kind of wild to me. Nothing against them at all, they just seem to fall into âchill down-tempo soulâ that has nothing new to say and just recreates a sound of bands from the 70s. And they are a new band ABOVE Steel Pulse, who while also having nothing new to say in their genre at least are FROM the era of sound they play.
the definition of UNTZ copypasta doesnât make any sense anymore, now that the disco biscuits arenât involved
Goodness, I listened to a couple songs from the âheadlinersâ and it was all sparse down tempo wobble bass.
The UNTZ was/is an online music blog for all things whomp so this makes sense. Iâve only heard of Truth and Marry Droppinz but yah thatâs uhhhh a thing. So yah.
Donât think I recognize a single act on that bill.
Mary Droppinz and Chef Boyarbeatz sound fun tho.
We had a good run. Feeling doubtful weâll ever see it return to a full camping fest at three sisters.
Fucking bummed I wonât be able to subject my kid to those mud pits in a couple years, but maybe itâs for the best.
My lungs just breathed a sigh of relief
Whatâs the hotel scene in Peoria look like?
Baseless speculation: A different promoter approached 3 sisters park wanting to host their own event Memorial Day weekend, and offered more $$$.
@AlexTheDictator using his Buy the Bort $$ for the Big Bort Bash Three Sisters Campout 2025.
Iâm actually the reason they moved to a town and stopped camping. Camping is icky and for gross poor people. I wanted to make the fest acceptable for me and lobbied for this change.
That said, I will not be attending.
Interesting to see Isbell at a bluegrass festival. Not knowing anything about the history of this event I assume the term âbluegrassâ is used loosely?
They typically have one or two big name non bluegrass artists that still fit the vibe of the fest, usually night 1âs headliner. Last year they had Charley Crockett, 2023 was SCI and Robert Plant/Allison Krauss, 2022 was Phil Lesh and Tenacious D, etc. Most of the other bands are bluegrass though.
Do got to wonder if UM/Moe. have any desire to sign up for Diet SCamp.
This seems like a good sign for âR.I.P. Jamband musicâ
Presumably theyâll be there. But I just donât get the appeal of a âfestivalâ being at an amphitheater with one stage. Wouldnât you just go do a 2-3 night run to see your favorite band instead? Arenât festivals all about multiple stages and not a fucking LiveNation* amphitheater with 3 bands that couldnât sell it out?
Whatever though. Not gonna act like I know the logistics of these things.
