Already November, well into the 4th quarter. What new music has connected with you in 2023?

Squeaky Feet - Cause for Alarm

For me, my personal tastes have definitely evolved to Americana/alt country. My favorite albums, so far, have been:

Jason Isbell- “Weathervanes”
Zach Bryan- “Zach Bryan”
Parker McCollum-“Never Enough”
Adeem the Artist- “White Trash Revelry”
Bahamas- “Bootcut”
Samuel S.C.- “High Places”
Manchester Orchestra- “The Valley of Vision” (EP)
Turnpike Troubadours - “A Cat in the Rain”
Tyler Childers- “Rustin’ in the Rain”

Of the above, there is no doubt Isbell’s release is my favorite, probably followed by Zach Bryan.

There are probably a few others, these stand out for me, 2023 has been a good year for new music.

Totally excited for this

These are the only two I can think of that I’ve actually really enjoyed listening to multiple times

Not a fan of “Weathervanes”?

No did you read his post?

Yes, I read his post, either he didn’t listen to Weathervanes more than once or doesn’t enjoy the idea of it.

Not particularly. Haven’t really listened since the show in July, but if seeing the songs live doesn’t really endear them to me, pretty unlikely I’ll actually enjoy them on record

Fair enough, it’s has grown on me to the point it’s probably my 3rd favorite Isbell release (after “Here We Rest” and “Southeastern”. I don’t love the entire album but really enjoy the majority of it.

I’m sure I’ll give it another chance eventually, but it sits pretty far down the pack for me
