As a thankful music lover who has enjoyed UM since early ‘01, this last yr has made me realize every good thing usually comes to an end. No Myers, still pretty sweet, now no Jake, decent, but, damn, the glory days were a hell of a time.

So you got to see them without Jake in the band previously and you don’t think they are capable of evolving still? What else is Bayliss going to do? You think living in Southern California is cheap? And is Baysik covering a mortgage in Charleston? The show will go on. I think they are playing really well as of late.

For real man. It’s not like this is a bar band that five 50-somethings do on the weekends for fun a few times a year. It’s their entire livelihood. The show will go on unless it absolutely cannot anymore.

I’ve actually never seen a show without Ekaj. I think he joined sometime in ‘00. No doubt they would still create great music, it’s probably just not going to peak like it used to, unless you’re there, then it all comes back, I love run on sentences.
I’m not tuned into UM news like some of y’all but is it true Joel is now trying to suspend Bayliss?

All I know is that I drove from the Chi. suburbs to see Jake w/WW in Holland this past Sat. & Jake was on fire, leading the majority of jams with ease, hand signs and all. Didn’t look like he was struggling with alcohol, though Willie was pretty hammered. I bet that performance blew away BB/(home wrecker) Joel at Garcia’s the following night.

I completely blanked on Jake’s show in Holland. It’s a little further than my 25 mile radius clause to see live music but would have gone. That’s a nice little theatre, saw @cshore 's old band there quite a few years ago.
How about the Cinninger Ponce Experience on Sat. June 20th? I bet you can make it, I’ll be coming in from the Chi. suburbs again. Benton Harbor and basically SW MI is absolutely gorgeous & extremely accessible.
