Are your chakras aligned? - The STS9 thread

Dang man

Believe me, I’ve tried.

What years did you see STS9 though? They were garbage live from mid 2008 until like a couple years ago. I’ll tell you what 5.6.06 at Saint Andrews Hall was plenty danceable.

If a band is shitty from 2008-2020ish then they deserve no chance.

Saw probably a couple dozen shows from 2009-2018ish

First time I saw Tribe was in 2010. Ive seen some bangers and some not so great shows. Always a dance party though ime.

They have had a major resurgence lately though. The last several shows I’ve seen have all been awesome.

Tell that to Biscuits fans. 2011-2019 was arguably more dog shit than STS9 at the end of the Murph era yet people still give them a chance.

I agree though they are hard to vibe to for me these days. I put on some recent STS9 in the shop the other day and I was spinning Umphrey’s within like 30 minutes.

I saw them about 15 times beginning in 2007, but the last was on the 2013 STUM tour pre-Alaina

I haven’t seen them since Holidaze 2017 but I saw 13 shows before Peaceblaster than chased the glory days for another few dozen shows before I stopped traveling for them. The last time I traveled for STS9 was up to Seattle in 2016 and that show was boringAF. Eugene the night before was really good though.

Saw them N1 of NYE run in 05 at the Tabernacle, that was a blast but anytime I’ve tried listening to recent shows I get bored really fast.

This would actually be really fun. Kinda surprised they’re playing the arena

They’ll probably move the stage up further and not sell any tickets behind so itll sell out. Kitchen Dwellers at Salvage for NYE, RJD2 at OP. Tribe at OP on the 30th.

Come hang! Got a bed

Radius is a rad venue. I’d poss go see em with ya

My buddy’s 150th (pretty sure he hit 150 UM shows last year too) STS9 show was Sunday night at Red Rocks for that four setter and he said it was amazing. I haven’t seen STS9 since 2017 but I would like to see them again. Saw like 40 shows with the old bassist but stopped paying attention when he left. From most people I’ve talked to recently about them, it seems they are playing really well.

You should go. One of my favorite STS9 shows was in Chicago. They throw down in Chitown!
